When I get a good Dynamic balance with my Rail-based 5dII I am noticing some odd things. I will get my Static balance with the cam facing 1 way. Then when she is done with her tight, firm Dorothy Hamill spin and the camera is facing the opposite Direction it is no longer living in Static balance land. I will then re-balance and she spins like Tonya Harding after a night of drinking at the bowling alley!
Is my gimbal screwed? I hope not! Am I nutz?Did any of that make sense?

cheers

Hey Michael,

I've had the exact same problem with my Flyer, although minus the metaphor. I was told it was a pretty simple fix with the gimbal, but was unable to reproduce it when brought into the shop. I am now able to reproduce a similar problem and was told it is related. So I will be taking my rig back into the shop soon. You should call Tiffen and talk to them about it. My similar problem is that after I get static balance I can tilt the rig and find a new static balance point, which of course is not vertical. I've only ever found the 2 points, which I suppose is a good thing...
