Dates: June 8 and 9
Location: Hollywood
Cost: $800

The Steadicam Guild presents the Operator's Master Class, an intensive, advanced experience for those who have already completed a traditional workshop, own their own gear and are looking to move their operating to the next level. The 2-day class focuses on the techniques and challenges faced by the working Steadicam operator.

The class combines lectures and dissection of classic Steadicam sequences with practice shots and exercises. The class culminates with an elaborate "one'r" incorporating actual actors performing a scripted scene which simulates a real-world set experience. Due to the small size of the group, each operator will have the opportunity to perform multiple takes to be critiqued in depth by the instructor.

For those operators who are comfortable with the basics but are looking to finesse their technique and move up to the next level, this class has proven to be greatly beneficial. For more details including clips from prior workshops, visit the Steadicam Guild website (www.steadicamguild.org).

If you are interested in joining the Class, please forward a resume and/or links to your reel or clips (so that we can assure a baseline of experience amongst all students) to: masterclass@charlespapert.com.

2 spaces are still available for the upcoming June 8th and 9th Operator's Master Class!

We have a number of people interested in taking the Master Class so we may schedule another class in the very near future as well.

If interested in taking the Operator's Master Class, please Email me and let me know your schedule and we'll see if we can get enough students to get another class going.

Does anyone in New York want to put something like this together? I would love to take the workshop but I do not live in LA.

I am assuming this is a different kind of workshop from the Tiffen or SOA 5 day workshop.

I would be happy to help in setting it up if some of the "big time" NYC operators wanted to teach it or if Charles and David wanted to fly out and host it.

Best,

Philip

Thanks Philip. We've talked about taking this show "on the road". There are some specifics that make it a bit more complicated than the typical workshop (digging up local actors etc) but that wouldn't be too hard in New York...!

Any other east coast ops interested?
