So what exactly does this bracket look like? Does it just have a regular iris rod or is it something preston specific? Is it 15mm, 19mm, 5/8" or what? If I only need to mount one focus motor do I need anything besides what Panavision can supply or should I really be using a hill pana bracket? Why?

Last time I dealt with the LW the AC had his own preston and all the bracketry. Now I need to rig it up with my bartec and make sure I have all the right toys.

As the name says it... It's designed to mount Preston motors with the standard Preston mount onto a Panavision Lightweight.

It will do you no good to get one unless you have and want to use Preston brackets...

Look into the:

- Hill Panabracket
- Panavision Modular Motor Mount

or Greg Bubb's

- XCS plates

Jess, you don't need any of these options for the LW if you have rods that come off of your camera plates, either the top mounted (more convenient) or bottom mounted plate. These different brackets just make it sometimes more convenient to quickly mount motors. Also the Hill bracket and the Rodriguez bracket are mainly for mounting motors in studio mode by taking the place of the standard Pana modular bracket mounted follow focus. The Hill bracket has 15mm rods attached.
