My name is Andrew and I work with Steadyrig.

This is just a short note to keep you all advised of the progress of the upcoming Steadyrig Ebay sale that we had scheduled for the end of March. Hugo’s wife has had to return to hospital and this means the sale will be delayed. All the stock, images and text have been prepared and when possible I shall place the items on ebay and we will let you know when this happens.

Any questions or queries regarding this post or the sale can be sent to admin@steadyrig.com

Thank you for your kind words Luis.

It has been a difficult period and it has all been a bit of a shock. My wife was not feeling well and there was no improvement after medication was prescribed. Eventually we were referred to a specialist and she was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Elizabeth received chemotherapy, last year, as treatment for breast cancer. Apparently leukemia can be caused by chemotherapy as a rare side-effect.

Elizabeth has responded well to treatment so far, but we still have another round of chemo to go and then there will be a bone marrow transplant to follow.

I have allocated the Ebay sale to Andrew and he assures me that the Ebay sale process will commence in the second half of June.

Please feel free to contact either myself or Andrew with admin@steadyrig.com

Kind regards,
Hugo

Steadyrig.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts regarding Elizabeth. We have had many phone calls, forum posts and emails and we are grateful. I am trying to respond personally to all those who have taken the time to contact us.

Elizabeth's progress has been excellent and we are hoping for a full recovery but we are still waiting to find a suitable bone marrow donor.

We will start posting items on ebay this Sunday (June 28) and will continue over the following weeks. We are unable to list all the items at once as the workload we would encounter at the completion of the auctions would be unmanageable.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

Hi to all,

Thanks to Ron, Gustavo, Julian and everyone else for your wishes. Julian thanks for the photos you have sent to me.

Liz has completed some treatment for complications but it looks like she will be home this Friday. We are still waiting for a suitable bone marrow match for a transplant.

Well, the ebay sale has commenced. We have started slowly - because we want to avoid getting too busy when the auctions all end at once. We plan to add several new items every few days to keep the sale rolling along. The items we are listing first are the smaller items and we will be moving progressively onto the the more substantial items.

Please feel free to contact either myself or Andrew with admin@steadyrig.com

Kind regards,
Hugo

Having read Hugos thread and his mention of a bone marrow donor, I thought I would post this link.

http://www.anthonyno...ointheregister/

It applies mainly to UK but I'm sure there are many worldwide links to similar organizations.

My wife got me involved with the Anthony Nolan trust when we got together. Her family had been registered for years and only my father in law had been shortlisted once in that time. I signed up and within 6 months I was shortlisted and then accepted as the most viable donor.
I donated 2 years ago and the procedure took an hour and I was out of hospital with 48 hrs. Recovery was 10 days and I was paid in full for the time I missed from work. I was back to work after 2 weeks and haven't looked back.

I have never given blood, but I know a lot of people who do, and this is just as easy. The signing up process is a very simple one and takes only five minutes. They take a blood sample and that is kept on record until they need a donor that matches you.

Take a look and have a think....

Best

Jamie,

Thanks for your thoughts and concern.

I agree with your suggestion
James, I also would like everyone to consider registering to be a donor.

There are trusts/organisations in most developed nations around the world and their network is heavily traveled with searches for donors.

Hooray The good news for us is that a suitable donor has been found for Elizabeth, and if all goes according to current plans the transplant procedure is scheduled for late October.

This news has lifted our spirits tremendously and the future is now promising.

Again, thanks to all those people who continue to send their wishes and express their
support.

Kind
Regards,

Hugo and Elizabeth.
