Hello everyone,
I need to ship a full steadi package, which I am purchasing used, halfway across the country. Does anyone have any insight on insurance or anything else I should look out for. Thanks in advance.

Use UPS or Fed Ex ground and pay for their insurance. Might be around .65/$100. Expensive but worth it.

You might want to consider actually getting a Steadicam Policy. Walter P. Dolle in Chicago (I think) offers a reasonable policy through the SOA. I am getting a new policy written through my home/auto/life carrier. Be careful about using insurance through the shippers. they are often very limited to what they cover and very rarely will they cover the full value of sometihing so pricey.

good luck.
