Has anyone used it already? It looks pretty good and also pricing looks like a killer.
Would love some info

Hi Job,

We have a 3 of those units and they work well for the price. There are a lot of pros and cons to these units but letus is one of the best produced out there. The mothership is produced by PS+Technic and has a large price tag, but worth it.

Here are a few resources to do more research:

www.dvxuser.com go to the 35mm adapters forum and read the first 4-5 "sticky" (highlighted in yellow) posts.

Important notes:
-The 35mm adapter producers have no or little customer support; even modulus would be ashamed of their performance. :P
-The adapter is about +1K but with lenses and other accessories you can expect to spend a total of 4-5K. (they have adapters that start at 5K as well)
-Stay away from Redrock 35mm adapters.
-They balance and fly on a steadicam pretty well but you have rear mount the follow focus.

If you have any questions please feel free contact me. Sometimes 10-15 minutes over the phone takes care of 3-4 months of research.

You can find my contact info here: www.productionpit.com

Hope this helps.

PS: I will post some pictures of the adapter on a steadicam.

Cool, thanks.

I heard also rumors that the will come out with a b4 mount. Makes it easy for us to use on xdcam, digibeta and or HD.
Philip Bloom from the uk did a lot of research on them. his site

I also heard that Letus are making a B4 mount version similar to the Pro 35.

The Pro 35 is the only one that I've used and does limit you in terms of shutter and aperture if you are to avoid seeing the ground glass.

The letus extreme has a vibrating ground glass and you cant stop below 5.6 or go above 250 shutter speed. The new Letus has a spinning glass but costs $3500 more. I am not sure it's worth the price difference.

I think i'm right in saying that the new Ultimate version has its own back focus adjustment. Where as the Extreme versions rely on the focus of the lens you are mounting to, to set back focus. Hence cannot be used with B4 mount cameras, hence price hike..This would also lead me to believe a B4 is coming soon as it looks as though they are aiming this as a PS alternative.

I like the look of the Ultimate and will definitley be keeping an eye out for the B4 mount.
