Hi Everyone
I would like some help with the remote ON /OFF with the BFD cable( cable supplied by Jim ) on a RED camera .It uses the plug at the back of the camera.Momentary or Constant switching?
What do I need to do to make it work .I think it a soft ware issue ?
When using my Preston there was no problem using the right hand side output.
Thanks in advance

Hi Louis,

about two weeks ago I used my BFD on the RED w/ ON/OFF remote cable from Jim.

I had no problems with it. We used build 13 and build 15. Do you know which build you've got?

I've enclosed a picture where I inserted Jim's plug. Can't remember what the plug on the RED is called.

I found this on reduser.net:

Build 10 and 11 firmware also support record start / stop using the upper of the two 4 pin LEMO connectors on the camera back.

Provide a trigger pulse by shorting pin 1 (ground) to pin 2 (GPI) momentarily.

An appropriate connector is LEMO FGG.0B.304.CLAD42Z

Connector pin out is in Appendix A of the latest Operations Guide at www.red.com/support

This is what I built the cable for. So far it seems to work. You need to set the BFD to MOM (momentary).
