I have been looking for a complete rig for quite some time now. I found a pretty good one however the asking price is $8000 for a 3A arm w/ gold springs. It looks to be in good condition but I feel that the price is a little high. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

3A arms are amazingly durable if they have all the upgrades. They can carry just as much weight as you can probably handle. For maintenance and upgrade info contact Robert Luna at: 323-938-5659
If the 3a arm does have all the upgrades then it's most likely the best deal for that price range.
Unless you find someone dumping a arm/rig on the market in a hurry or something......
Maybe you can haggle/shave the price down a little, but that's a normal initial asking price.

My 2 cents,
