Very much off topic unless you consider the longevity of your career...
I'm almost finished with a book titled, "Diet For A New America" by John Robbins. In a nutshell, it reveals the very real dangers of meat and dairy consumption, all based on numerous scientific studies over several years.
I'm a meat eater and I eat dairy. I don't see myself going vegetarian, but this book is a real eye opener and there is no doubt that I will significantly reduce meat and dairy in my diet as a result of the knowledge gained.
Even if you increase your consumption of meat and dairy, you owe it to yourself to understand what you're eating and the effects it has on your health.
The book is a little animal-loving, tree-hugging in the beginning, but the majority is based on fact and is thoroughly referenced.
This is an older book - late 80's - but the information is just as relevant today as it was then. This book is less than $5 if you get it used through Amazon. John Robbins has two more current books which I imagine are similar.
Even if you continue with meat and dairy consumption, I hope you get this book so you're at least informed about what's going down your gullet. Let me know what you think if you end up reading it.
