Toward the bottom of the list of new gadgets, check out this new Panasonic monitor. No idea what the NITS rating is, but figured folks would be interested in a new entry from a major manufacturer.

Dave / All

I?ve been wondering when the next price drop in 7 to 10? LCD ac/dc monitors will happen so I?ve been watching to see if Panasonic will lead the way. It?s been a week since NAB 07 and I?m really surprised at the lack of buzz about small pro LCD monitors. It seems that the consumer 27? and up LCD TV's keep falling and the pro display?s over 300 nit are still priced the same as 06.
I did find that this new Panasonic 8? is 400 nits and will have a waveform feature. Panasonic also is marketing this as a ?Viewfinder? because with a special cable and a Panasonic camera, you just plug?in and now all your VF displays are on the monitor out. Sounds OK but I know that the SDX900 has menu options to send all VF display items to your monitor out BNC now. Not a big deal in my opinion. The price I found was $2700 MSRP.
I?d like to know if anyone had the chance to drive it at NAB and get their input on the picture. I hope they didn?t put it in a glass box like the HVX200 / P2 camera a few years back.

I sold my Transvideo last fall and I do miss it so.
