Hi guy's,

MK-V has a new 2 channel remote system, and they showed it at NAB. Did someone see the system or test it out?

I wasn't aware that it was out of the Prototype state.

If he is as quick getting it into production as he was with sending me the first production LCD for testing...
He told me he is going to send me one of the first production models after I saw the prototype at CineGear 2003... Never got one, I finally bought a Transvideo last year (2005) never saw the MK-V.

What I saw, it looked very much like the old VX unit he build together with Ben Fisher a couple of years back and uses the FMG-6 style (analog) motors that can't be repaired here in the US.

I would still go with the Preston. Still the best FF on the market, I own 2. And Howard Preston is amazing with his Costumer Service, he always has an open ear for the concern of my Assistants. He immediately changed a couple of issues that I had with my new Focus/Iris unit, made it standard to all following units and modified mine for free. Right now he is building me some custom parts for my other hand unit.

Hi marc!

Well Erwin, for us here in Europe its still better to get a SCORPIO because the service is "around the corner" and it is as close to the preston as it gets!!Btw,I happen to sell mine!!Marc, how much money do you wanna (can)spend??

Hi Guido,

I'm sure it works as well as the Preston does as it is build to 90% on Preston technology...

I just have a serious problem on how it got conceived...

If you are in the states and looking for a lowcost analog system I would lean towards something that has local (US) service such as the BFD and M-One motors, Barring that and you want a high end system you are safe with either the Preston or the Scorpio

I have seen it on the IBC, never used it in the field though.
It has auto calibrate and it looks smart. I have no ideas how many units are out there
