I'd like to stabilize some of my vacation footage. Not looking for anything pro level, but something that has the potential to stabilize properly with some technique. I tried a really cheap ball-socket stabilizer off of ebay and it may have inherent defects (what did I expect for $20?)

I'm looking into the old merlin 2 system, but open to any budget stabilizer that gives decent results. Thanks!

Definitely the volt or the solo. Different feels for both but they both can provide exceptional results

I'd also say the Volt for something lightweight or the Merlin 2 for non vest-arm operating on DSLR cameras. I tried out the Solo for a while, even at its lightest (without any counter weights) it is not meant for hand held operating!
