Hey there friends,

I'm looking for some rental houses in Arizona area who has good cranes to stand on while steadicaming. I remember something from the workshop that Jerry Holway said, a crane that always fell over, was it the Titan? No? I can't remember.

Anyway, as I said, what cranes are good for walking onto and then lifting up in the air?

Thanks for any info.

Best regards as always

The unstable crane that Jerry spoke about is the Tulip crane, due to its relatively small base. This leaves too much room for error especially with an under experienced crane operator.

Be very careful when working on or even around cranes. Make sure you have an experienced operator and that the operator has experienced grips to work with. Cranes are great tools for steadicams because they give the element of height that is so hard for us to get, but they are EXTREMELY dangerous if not used with knowledgeable people.

Just my two cents.

Great. Thanks for the info, ckonash.

Does anyone have a good sugestion for a good crane to steadicam from. Is the general rule, the bigger the base the better the crane to do this from?
