As far as I understand the (again) delayed the delivery of their system to 'increase range' so I would be very surprised if their was a current working system out there.

If you find one please share the intel :-)

I've recently shot in China and asked the local Chinese AC's about it - no one has seen them just yet.

However, from a local rental camera house that has close connection with Tilta, received a demo unit of WLC-T02 and from what I heard, they gave it a blessing - which I'm assuming the unit is fully functional and workable.

I was told the release date will be in March. Let's see how it works?

I demoed the Tilta FIZ system today. Very well made. Super modular. well thought out. Looks very similar to the Arri and Chrosziel systems.

Its modular in that each motor will have an MDR that will stack together as motors are needed. They even have their own Cinetape version that was reading the event hall wall 60 feet away. I think the Arri UDM reads to 45 and the cinetape is only 21. Am I wrong?

It Looked pretty sexy but we all know that functionality and dependability are the only issues that matter when your wide open at night doing a push in.

3 motor system costs 7K$!!!!!

Not sure what to think about that.

We had a session with the Tilta six weeks ago or so, put it through its paces with a number of AC's, ops etc. It has some nice ideas and features but the basic functionality wasn't ready for prime time. Eric F. sussed out that the motors were brushless (noisy and prone to chatter); the Tilta chaps said they were changing those out by NAB which apparently didn't happen. On the radio side, we saw interference with an adjacent Preston. And various other concerns.

It seems a little odd that the two major rental houses consider it a done deal while it is still very much a work in progress. Time will tell.

I hope they stick with it and let it mature. Even if they never get to the level of refinement of Preston and Arri/Cmotion, there is room for a system under 10K that is 85% as good as the big boys.

I spent time with the Tilta cage for the Mini yesterday, and even if there's problems with that that I couldn't identify within an hour, it seemed to me that Tilta is trying very, very hard.

Nate what did you see as flawed with the Tilta cage for the Mini?

Ramon

What I was trying to say was I didn't see any problems with it, that it seemed relatively well thought out. Apparently Keslow worked with them to figure out a way to make the Mini work without it being a fustercluck.

I suspect Tilta is going places. Places other camera aks manus haven't been able to get to yet.
