feeling like I am sometimes (and not just once in a blue moon kind of sometimes) a bit limited by the length of my GPI Pro post .. really love it when I have to fly compact and also for the majority of setups, but seems like a few directors I work with always want to drag the camera on the deck, and not always able to get on a dolly to keep it that low ..

think about the Omega Lite head which would benefit from a longer post has left me wondering what options there are for some extra length on the post ..who has changed over to XCS or MKV post/gimbal combo, keeping all the rest PRO ?

how hard or feasible would it be to adapt a 3rd post section, an extender section (such as sachtler is doing with the artemis trinity) in between the stage and top post, I imagine it would be using components that are already fabricated in the pro shop (good way to get rid of those fixed posts you have sitting around jack)

running the telescopic post on the cinelive + gen 3 base ..

Something that has helped me keep the camera a little lower is using a tilt plate (a cool feature of the tiffen sleds). The camera can be kept lower when tilting up so height is not lost. A few people make them, I have been using a prototype plate made by Howard Smith -- having trouble attaching pic.

I used to use this before I went to a 4 stage post. It gave me an extra 12 inches reach and meant there was no mucking around with changing out my post for a long one. http://www.steadicam...topic=23381&hl=
