The current mdr3 uses a booster to always send 24v to the motors so they always turn at the same speed even when the mdr is powered by bless than 24v

I'm assuming the same is true of the Mdr 2 sending constant 24v?

It depends on the age of the MDR-1. Some of the 900Mhz versions had external 12-24v upconverter boxes. Microwave versions had the voltage converter built into the microwave transceiver. (well, the board right next to it, but still in the upper tray)

The pin out on the power connector on the MDR-1 microwave version is the same as the MDR-2

More speed. 24V turns the motors twice as fast.
