BFD Not Working

Hi all,


My backup analogue BFD receiver seems to have stopped receiving.

I have two complete systems and both transmitters, all cables and motors work fine. I have tried switching every other part and narrowed it down to the receiver unit, however, the broken system calibrates fine and also works when hardwired

I have tried all channels and none get any response. There is just an occasional motor “twitch” when switching to and from the channel selected on the the RX unit.

Any ideas? I’m in the UK near London so also looking for who is best to got to for service.

It could be a problem with the motor, like a blown encoder. Have you tried with other cables/motors? As Jens said, contact Jim; he's always quick to respond and very helpful.

Thanks guys, I have already emailed Jim. I thought I'd post here in case there is a known issue.


I've swapped all cables and motors and everything works fine with the second RX

Sounds like the receiver board might have come out of its socket. If your comfortable opening the unit it is easy to reseat it.

It seems integrated problems. Maybe one of them isnt adjusted or maybe burnt. First try to adjust all of them.

If you have to change it, maybe the better option is to buy anothers for backup.

Change it is very easy.

Jim will send it and explain how to do if you ask. He is ten man.

Just to update: Jim sent through a new RX board and I installed it in a few minutes. Price was very reasonable, and as always, fast helpful service. Thanks Jim!


BTW, this was my backup unit.
