Greetings all -

I recently picked up a barely used Zephyr that the original owner purchased in 2012. The clamp at the bottom of the gimbal handle is so tight that I'm unable to open it by hand. Even when there is no tension from the hex screw that it screws into, it still will not open easily. The post clamp below this functions easily, without a problem. I'm wondering if the gimbal clamp should be this tight. Any thoughts?

Many thanks for any input.

Thanks very much Chris. I was thinking some lube might do the job. If all else fails, we can always use an Allen key to tighten and loosen the cap head screw.

You're more than welcome.

You will have to adjust the tension set by the Allen most likely, so that you have enough grip, but not so much that you're in danger of clamping too tight.

If you go too light, you can find your gimbal slipping north on the post leading to a very un-flyable and un-dockable mess :-)

Indeed, slippage during a shot would be a disaster!
