I got this question after reading the "High Speed Steadicam" topic in the Operating forum. The discussion was regarding the use of a 1000' 35mm mag and the maximum weight of the arm.

Does anyone know what the gross maximum weight is for a Master Series arm? I know it advertises it'll support up to a 45lb camera, but what is the actual limit to everything in addition to the camera?

If I remember correctly, the Master Film Arm has an upper lift limit of 65lbs, all included.

I believe it is actually 67 pounds when tuned for heavy loads (the arm can be detuned to allow smaller payloads on the lower end, but it will shave a few pounds off the high end - these adjustments can me made by the owner via an Allen wrench and are not to be confused with the standard adjustment - red - knobs).
