Hi Guys,

Quick story, that some of you heard already.

While shooting in NY this past week 01-31-14 my steadicam got stollen in the Bronx.  It was loaded onto the truck with my vest and arm case along with all the camera gear and Rf equipment and in the morning my steadicam case was nowhere to be found.  As you can imagine, everyone was pretty upset and on the hunt for my rig.  I called many of you in NY for a spare rig so I could complete the job for the rest of the week.  Two days go by and still no rig,  so Insurance companies were called, Police were notified and once the local security working the venue was threatened with the head of our security is coming over there with the police to view the security camera footage in person, not 10 minutes later the head of their security called and said they had found my steadicam, stashed away in a hiding spot by the loading dock.  It was total bullshit and on site security was in on it.

I just wanted to thank everyone who made phone calls and came to the rescue on an hours notice.

I'm sure there are a few that I didn't talk to personally but were notified.

Jeff Muhlstock

Manny Bonilla

Tore Livia

Jeff Laternaro

Joe Debonis

Andrew Jansen

Adam Kieth

Manny Torres

and a special thanks to

Mathew Fleishman, Yoshi Tang

and Peter Abraham for renting me your rig and gear. and for coming down to the venue and getting me up and running like a freakin pit crew at Nascar.

I'm proud to say I am part of a great community that is always willing to help out a fellow operator.

Thanks guys

Happy ending to what could have been a crappy story.  No doubt it was stressful. The thing about Ron's boobs is they are nice and they're cheap!

WOW, I hadn't heard, I would have had my rig at fed ex for you in a sec!. Glad it turned up, Guess it was just "Cooling off" at the loading dock until after the venue changed event.

 That was a close one.

Glad it ended well.!!

Wow what total BS. Are you going to pursue it? THat's total crap that you can't trust the security at the venue. They need to be strung up and held accountable. They'll just do it again until someone exposes the whole infected stain of people who prey on hard working technicians who mistakenly trust these pukes.

I hate this kind of stuff. We all work so hard and make many sacrifices only to flat headed social rejects steal our stuff. Damn it man give me a baseball bat!

What venue was it?

Glad to have been in a position ( vertical ) to help Rob out. As an aside, I must say this.

One of the Producers of Rob's gig walked up to us as Rob was fine-tuning the balance of Matt's sled. ( Now, who am I to question the wisdom of a 19-second drop time? :D ). This Producer introduced himself and with utter sincerity thanked Matt and I for helping Rob out in his moment of need. He literally said, " There aren't a lot of departments that have this level of community support. You really pulled it off, thank you so much. "
Unexpected and much appreciated, that Production took a moment to do that. Don't remember the guy's name, but it was delivered with honesty and respect. No matter what the job, one cannot ask for more than that.

Best to all,

Peter Abraham, S.O.C.
