Hi all, I wanted to ask on here first about the Merlin Vest/arm, is it the same as on the pilot kit?
I'm asking as I had thought about buying this along with a Merlin to get started flying my 7D before investing in the Pilot kit for my EX1R. I'm worried about buying the pilot kit as most of my work will be weddings and due to the normal time constraints, I might not have time to use it that much. With the Merlin I could grab it quick, clip my camera in and get some flying shots very fast with out a vest every time. But when I do have time, getting into the vest and arm will help me get the feel of using it all together.

Getting into the vest & arm (with practice) should be well under a minute (probably under 30 seconds).

So it will make more sense to hold of and buy the Pilot kit Alec, rather than ending up with two, Thanks.

I just watched your show reel work, very impressive, just goes to show the talent of the members on this forum.

Hi Paul

The arm and vest is the same for both with the exception of the arm post which is cranked for the Merlin and straight for the Pilot and can be exchanged in a few seconds.

Thanks Robin, it should be a great combo with my current Glidecams, and my wrist will thank me for sure.
