Hello,

Just wondering if anyone here has a Preston Start/stop cable for the c500 or if that's even possible?  I know the control port is a LANC port, but not sure if the camera can be triggered another way.

Cheers

Hi Kevin,

There is a smart device from PLC Electronic Solutions, it's simply called the "C300 On/Off Cable" but it's actually an electronic that will use the trigger coming from your ARRI camera run cable plugged into it and will convert it to the LANC signal needed for a Canon C300 or a C500 or any other camera or recorder using this protocol, such as all the cameras from Blackmagic (Production Camera 4K, Cinema Camera & Pocket Cinema Camera) and also onboard recorders like the AJA Ki Pro Mini.

The fact that it uses the ARRI camera Start/Stop cable we already own makes it compatible with all remote systems, be it a Preston or a Bartech, etc. Cool !

Here is the page about this product : PLC Electronic Solutions C300 On/Off Cable
