Hi peeps.

I'm fairly new to the Steadicam world, I bought my Merlin a couple of months ago.

I am a huge airplane enthusiast and have a friend who is a flight captain on a European charter carrier. I have had the pleasure of flying with him on a couple of flights in the cockpit (about 8 yrs ago, I filmed with my old SONY Digital8 camcorder) and we're now planning a new ride.

This time I will bring my 7D and the Merlin. Just wondering, how do you guys think that the Merlin will handle the pretty rough bumps during takeoff and landing? Is it worth to bring the Merlin at all?

I believe that I will get better shots while in the air with my Merlin instead of a small tripod, but I'm unsure how it will handle the takeoff and landing.

Planning to shoot the "big moments" with my 14 mm Samyang.
