My DP loves to use the remote iris, and I'm hoping I can just upgrade my MDR.

You can put a G3 board in the single channel unit and have it work with your HU2

Is the HU2 compatible with an MDR2 with G3 board? Does Preston sell G3 boards?

My problem is that I have an MDR1 which won't talk to the single channel handset.

Yes the Hu2 with G3 and MDR2 with G3 are compatible.

No, Preston does not sell the G3 anymore

Ask on the forum, people are upgrading and selling the g3....

To totally piggyback off of James's question: is the HU2 compatible with an MDR 1 that has been outfitted with a board recently emoved from an MDR2 that has just undergone the upgrade? Will the discarded MDR2 board even fit into the MDR1?
