I've found that eliminating the monitor completely saves weight, and allows me to use the new thing in Steadicam-

The Actor-Tracker.

Yes, this revolutionary new system makes use of G.P.S. technology. You simply attach the discreet tracking module somewhere on your actor/actress. Then, your rig automatically tracks their movements and keep the sled moving in compensatory fashion.

All the rage on action pictures, less so on pornographic projects. Coming in 2006:

The SlackerTracker

Allows the Steadicam Operator to keep track of errant camera p.a.'s.......

Will you be teaching your new "No Monitor Technique at our 3 Day Workshop this August? If so, I'll take the course again. It'll make my work so much better if nobody sees it.
