So I see this job posting on craigslist that says they are looking for a Steadicam operator for a commercial, and the rate is $100. I reply, "$100? Count me in! Here's my rig:"

Posted Image

Then I get a reply (with others CC'ed):

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say - if the price doesn't work for you, there's no need to tell me about it. I don't wanna know. I'm not forcing you to work for me, so there's no need to act like d-bags)

... I guess he didn't like my rig.

This gopro is leaps-and-bounds better than the Hero2. The only thing I don't like about it is that I'm actually getting calls from people who want to shoot projects on it... Projects as an A camera... Indoor projects shot at night. This camera needs MUCH MUCH LIGHT! (Not to mention everything else wrong with using this as an A-Camera on a narrative project.)

The Hero3 does have some quirks: 4K (up to 15FPS) will only record something like 20 minutes on a 64GB Card, the 720p 120FPS will only record 45 seconds at a time, & certain resolutions and frame rates cannot be viewed via the mobile app.

I love that the new case has a flat glass filter in front of the lens. The old, curved plastic cover stuck out, and got scratched very easily. I also like that I can have WiFi going, and have a battery or LCD BacPac at the same time.

Did the guy not think the Hero3 would work for his project? Did he want you to bring an Epic?, if so, Bring the Epic, but your gonna need like a $10 quarter roll to balance that smoothie out. unless your not using the Boxx with the Epic, then your good to go without the quarters.

I don't know if they have it in the budget to supply the rolls of quarters, so I'll probably just bring the Boxx.

I guess that depends on what the crafty person will bring for a DVD copy.
