Hi All
can anyone suggest any good books or manuals related to steadicam techniques, buyers guide, maintance ect?
I'm trying to get my head around the whole steadicam thing before I attend a workshop.
Many thanks for your time.
Cheers

There is such a book in the works from one of our distinguished operator/instructors. Also I hear rumors of a new instructional DVD at some point.

Charles,

You are everywhere. That's awesome. So, when is the DVD slated. I think I know who the instructor is, but I can be wrong.

Only 2 books published so far:

Steadicam: Una Rivoluzione nel modo di fare cinema, David Ballerini, Edizioni Falsopiano (Italien)
Steadicam: Aestetiques and Techniques, Serena Ferrara, Focal Press (English)

But:

Jerry Holway is working on one, so is Garrett.

Still the best "Manual" would be the "EFP Traings tape". I was told by Frank Rush that it should be soon available again and on DVD from Tiffen.

Hope that helps,

Erwin
