Hi! I was just finishing all the steps to fine tune the Merlin to work with my canon 600d but I stopped at the very last step. I was about to mount the camera to the dovetail plate but the mounting screw is way too big for the camera. It will fit to about half of its own length... I bought this from another user but everything else seemed original so I guess this big black screw is also original but I don't see how it will fit the camera. Half of it stays off...

Any ideas?

Shouldn't be a big black screw - should be this: http://www.bhphotovi...a_Mounting.html

It's a 1/4" diameter screw, about 1/4" long threads, and a 1/2" diameter super thin head. Sounds like you've got the wrong kind of screw.

You should be able to go to any local photostore and buy that exact screw for just a few dollars anyways.
