This is really strange for me .Usually ,when something new is on the horizon there is a big talk, but not in this case….
Is it the wait for the exovest?
I’m sure that lots of members of this forum have already seen / tried the flex ,but still no talk about!
Well I guess I should just wait for mine to arrive….

As far as I can tell it's a essentially a cut down universal without the leatherwork and a bit of flex in the front door? For $500 less? Not totally sure of the appeal really. I love the crew there at Klassen, but i don't think it's anything that's going to change how you work. Just really a cost / aesthetic choice. For $500 more, I think I'd rather have the nice leatherwork. I won't be swapping my Traditional in a hurry.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Best,
Rick.

I understood the front was far more flexible so you could sit down in it and for those that get that nerve rubbing in the upper hip. I agree with Richard; its not going to change much but will be a good option if your buying a vest.

hey all, Jennifer here.

normally we don't post since it's an operator forum but I'm happy to provide some information.

the main advantage of the flex is that it's 20-30% lighter than any of our other harnesses due to the lighter carbon shell, the reduced leather trim and a slimmer padding design.
there's also some flex in the front half of carbon though the back is still ridged. This along with a higher cut around the leg makes movement and sitting/squatting more comfortable.
Since the Flex is slightly less labor intensive we're able to offer it at a lower price.

I put a round of photos up on our facebook page yesterday and are updating our website this week. let me know if you have any questions or feedback.

I think operators would be more than happy to have manufacturers involved on the board.

Not really, it's been tried in the past with horrible results

"I think operators would be more than happy to have manufacturers involved on the board"

Sadly, we've had a few bad seeds ruin it for the others by essentially posting ads as text and testimonials. Now, the legitimate manufacturers (including Walter Klassen) keep their input to a minimum in favor of letting the operators speak about thier products. While we certainly appreciate them chiming in with answers to direct questions, this method seems to be the best.

What about NEW section in the forum – Manufacturers ( this can be paid option for topic starters), so if someone is coming with new stuff ,the one can advertise his product and answer questions ?

The problem with that Nikolay is that sort of tosses out all of our careful working separating threads (i.e. sleds). They can pay for an ad on forum already and then we operators can discuss as we wish and they are welcome to chime in with specific thoughts.

I know what you mean ,but those sections MUST remain locked for companies. If there is only one apart of Marketplace open for them ( and paid ) ,brands can even ask people here for advices during discusions.
Lets leave the sections we know free of manufacturers, but leave a window for them to explain their products .
Example: I saw the advert. Here and start to look for information about that vest- I found none. I contact Betz Tools as they represent Walter Klassen FX for some info right before CINEC.
Without knowing much I have ordered one almost “”blind”” .
If section like this give those guys a chance to explain and live as a space to ask them direct questions it will be great!
My two cents…
