i was thinking about this the other day...
Do any of our steadicam manufacturers use Union labor?

I build the Cinetronic monitors, and am a 600 member, so I guess you could say the Cinetronic monitors are union made.

I think Jack at PRO was in the 600 for a short time.

You mean camera union or a machinists union ?

I think it would be unusual for camera crew to be working in the manufacturing world ... I suppose Chris is an exception, but thats possibly because he is the developer of the monitor. I cant imagine he employs local 600 members to manufacture the monitor.

I was thinking more along the lines of say a union made car vs a non union made car...

if an IATSE600 member also makes steadicam equipment that would not make that equipment "Union Made" unless they are working under a contract that covers that construction/manufacturing.
I was thinking more about machinists and electricians.

For a small shop my guess is NO, but when that small shop has things made for them, do any use Union Contractors?
