Hello Flyers!
I've been reading a lot of information on these various boards and have finally narrowed down to either a Pilot or a Flyer LE (price point playing a considerable role).
Can you please help me decide and also what the best price is for a decent setup (If you have friends that are looking for a good home for any of their babies, please recommend).
Thanks in advance.

Back before I upped my game, I bought a pilot... I immediately returned it and bought a flyer - le....

I've got one I am thinking of selling but.... Everything works just like the day I got it but it has definitely been used and slightly abused... Lot's of run and gun stuff where through multiple days of shooting it never gets taken apart and just seat belted in to my back seat. I wouldn't want to sell it without the buyer seeing it in person and getting a chance to try it out.

If your in SoCal, lets talk.

Thanks,
Bryant

Yes, Flyer LE ($5k or so used)

Or consider a Scout for around the same price new. Similar to the Flyer in capability with updated sled design. If you can find a good LE that is HD, go for that. I don't remember if the standard def flyer comes pre-wired for HD, but the Scout does not.

And you should change your ID to your real name, that's the rule around here...

Thanks! The system allowed me to change only the display name (I hope that's what you meant by ID) and it's already been done.

If I come across something on eBay, can I run it by you guys? I'd feel more comfortable if some of you advanced folks bless it. The following are the two that I've found on eBay.

Both seem (slightly) high for a first generation Flyer, but not unreasonably so.

You should understand that the Flyer LE has an extendable carbon fiber post, 4-5 pounds more lifting capacity, and a larger diameter gimbal handle.

However, it's not a bad rig and a definite step up from the Pilot in many ways.

I like the thorough description on the Hawaii rig, rather than cut n paste from Tiffen blurbs. And it's a little cheaper, to boot. The condition of a rig is important, as is the reputation of the seller. That's one reason buying on the forum is generally a good idea.

Thanks Mark! I'll keep watching the marketplace forum on this site. Please let me know if you come across anything that's good.
