Can someone shed some light on what exactly happened here?

I was on an event with one of those. During the camera meeting it dropped from the sky and hit the deck about 20ft from us. The crew said it was a computer glitch. Good to know. The failsafe mechanism did not work.

I was actually watching that game when it happened, it was some pretty crazy stuff. Glad no one was hurt. Listen to the commentators as the camera is being dragged off the field, I missed that the first time.
