That said, I noticed some big design flaws, even for a lightweight low-budget rig. Not so much the arm, but the vest and sled.

We have this already right?
Same design etc. I get a certificate signed by him and a t-shirt for my donation????
I only scanned the sight for a minute but boy he's got hubris.
I really don't want a t-shirt etc. I'd want one of the things when he got done making them with my money.
I'd be a stock holder and want profits.
Unless I missed something this is nuts.
I tip my cap to his enthusiam but really?

But hey, at least his center post is absurdly long, so he's got that going for him.
There have been some amazing success stories on Kickstarter, but you don't hear about the massive majority who fail to meet their stated goal within the timeframe (you don't get any of the money if that happens--credit cards only get charged when the goal is met). I've been involved in some film projects that have gone through this.

I figured as much but didn't really believe anyone would fund this one.
I think he'd have more success just saying help me buy a flyer, etc. but no he's got to make his own.
Just amazing, as a concept kickstarter is a grand idea, and for its purpose to present ideas to a wider world, perfect.
I just can't see it in my world, that I'd have the guts to ask.
You give what you can, blueprints and t-shirts, or you just take the money and pay your rent.
he does have a long centerpost I'm sure.

It's very rare that you come across a student with some piss and vinegar.
Good to see drive every once and awhile.
I'll give him a $1 for effort.

I pulled back on my criticism not knowing his situation and I did actually appreciate the desire.
Lord knows I've helped hundreds over the years.
It just seemed like a very similar product to those "cheap knock-offs" we already have too many of; so a duplication and
to raise money to make some more, seemed a stretch to me.
Who knows maybe he'll come up with a truely new thing.
(I did notice that his vest was made out of the "vest" that the drum corps use to hold their drums. I've always wondered why no one ever used that "vest" before; it just hooks over the shoulders and attaches at the waist.)
