anyone flown the new sony f3?
I'm wondering if I will need an external down converter for my SD monitor - product info seems to suggest no.
Also wondering if anyone has any "learned experience "with the camera
cheers

Sure no problem. Strangely the F3 Thread is not under cameras, making it difficult to localize it. As per the camera itself, it's just as any other cameras, on a side, very lightweight.
It produce some amazing pictures! I've done some works with it and seen the rushes just on a Mac on set and I have to say it looks pretty great for what it is. I personally don't like all little buttons around, they are made in a very cheap way, but hey, it cost what it cost.In few words, it's a piece of plastic around a very nice Super 35 sensor and a PL mount.

Hey Matthew, you would not need a downconvertor as it sends out an sd signal on the video out at the same time too.

Best
