I am a long time Steadicam lurker and am finally ready to purchase one. I am looking to fly a Canon 5D and a Panasonic AF100. I pretty much decided on the Pilot but am having difficulties deciding between the Pilot vest with the upgraded buckles that ship standard now and a Flyer LE vest. Any thoughts? With the new Pilot vest, do you need to do a lot of adjustments with the velcro or do you just have to clip and unclip the buckles? Also, do you know if the Flyer vest will fit in the backpack that comes with the Pilot?

Depending on your lens and overall configuration, you may need to be careful with the AF100 maxing out the Pilot weight range, in which case a Scout might be the ticket.

The Flyer LE vest is a good little vest for lighter rigs, and in fact it's the same vest that is provided with the Scout.

Joshua, I never liked the Pilot's vest, so I sold it and bought a Flyer vest, much better. I pack the vest in a separate bag as it won't flatten down like the Pilot's.
