Please join The Steadicam Guild for The First Annual Stabilizer Gear Expo next Sunday! This is a free event for all operators to come out and demo gear from some of the manufacturers in the stabilizer business. Tiffen, GPI:PRO, XCS, and Sachtler will all have stations set up. You are welcome to bring your own vest and arm to help get the maximum comfort when demoing the sleds. Upstairs there will be an all day swap meet and lounge area where everyone can talk shop and sell gear. Also, we have Bartech, Hill Steadicam Products, Cinewidgets, and other sole proprietors coming out to exhibit their products.

Sunday, June 6th (following Cinegear)

The Casting Office Bar and Grill
3575 Cahuenga Blvd West
Universal City, CA 90068

Set-up is at 12:00p.m.
Expo 1:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.

Free garage parking (visitors level)
Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks are provided courtesy of Jerry Hill, Jim Bartell, Sachtler, and Tiffen.

Just got word today that GPI:PRO will not be setting up this year due to scheduling conflicts but thankfully George will be stopping by to answer any questions.

See you all Sunday!

Kevin, IIRC you are attending the class next week. I'm sure if you ask nicely, someone there will let you try theirs. There will be at least one or two there.

Jessica, perhaps someone with a stock, current PRO system can be persuaded to bring theirs on Sunday--maybe the GPI folks can pull the favor? I think there are going to be a fair number of out-of-towners in the house and I'm sure that there may be a few who have never seen a PRO in person and will be disappointed.

Could be fun if people brought their franken-rigs too. Would be interesting to see how people have combined pieces from the different manufacturers.

Please DO NOT bring your own rigs. We have no room! Arms and vests were suggested for maximum comfort when trying on other sleds. We will be forced to turn people away if they bring a rig to set up. This is the first year for this event. Next year we will be able to set up more.

On that note, maybe a franken rig BBQ gathering might work? Everyone showcase their modifications.

Also, Chupap! Who can we contact for a stock rig?

This was a very cool event.

As an out of towner it was fun to be part of, but it was also awesome to see so many of the people who make our gear in the same bar at the same time.
Great idea and great execution.
Thanks to everyone who made this event happen.
