Has anyone done any modifications to the lower strap of their Pro Vest? I’m looking for another means of fastening/tightening the lower strap that somehow allows the two sections of the strap to connect more to the side or front of the vest, so that I don’t need to reach behind me to tighten and connect/disconnect the Fastex buckles. I’m thinking about something similar to how many of us used to have our 3A vests with Velcro and Fastex connectors, so that you tightened the lower section by pulling tight on the Velcro covered strap and pressing it against the Velcro covered vest. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

A big thank you to Janice Arthur for helping me with my vest issue. I needed to be able to connect the two straps of the vest closer to the front of the vest. I had some lame idea about using Velcro, but Janice suggested that I simply lengthen the back strap and shorten the front strap so as to move the Fastex connector farther forward, while maintaining the same circumference of the vest.

I took her idea to the local shoe/boot repair store. After spending $2.70 on seatbelt webbing at Sports Chalet and $8.50 at the shoe repair store, my vest was exactly the way I wanted it in only four short hours for a grand total of $11.20. Thanks Janice for coming up with a simple, inexpensive solution, and for taking the time to help me out.
