I posted in november of 2009:

(Sorry for my english language, i'm from Spain)

I have problems still.

With the Merlin i can get to balance, but if i place the merlin with the camera, for example, in a sofa, in a chair, etc., when i hold the Merlin again, is unbalanced. If i walk, when some time has passed, Merlin again is unbalanced.

I received in november an email of Tiffen: "Hello

Thanks for your e-mail. If the Merlin is balanced and operating properly then you put it down and then it is out of balance it means something has moved. This could be the camera but also the bottom spar may have a little slack. It is good practice, even if the calliper lock screws are tight, to just make sure that the lower spar is as far open as possible each time you pick it up. This should sort out any issues.
Best regards

Robin"

But i just make sure that the lower spar is as far open as possible each time you pick it up, and the problems continue.

I don't want the steadi. I want to buy another steadi of another brand. I'm sick, angry of every 10 minutes to setup the steadi. I want to sell my steady with 50% of descount. Did anyone want to buy it?

Hello Francis

It is a little difficult to tell what the problem is without seeing the unit and setup, maybe before you sell it off and lose money it would be worth sending it to us here in England to make sure there are no technical faults.
