I was wondering if anyone knew any schools or programs that had steadicam training other than tiffen.

I have only heard great things about Tiffens training programs but I am trying to see if I have any other options. The only available class Tiffen has right now is a 5 day class and I am looking for something along a 2 or 3 day class. I am located in Washington DC area.

Thanks!

Jake

Just take the two day Tiffen Steadicam workshop with Peter Abraham and move on; that's as good as you can get for a short workshop. PRO occasionally offers a workshop but it's not for completely new operators who do not have at least the basics.

I would do that but the Problem is the next one is in may and is sold out and they don't list another one. I would prefer to do a training session sooner than later. Thanks for your response.

Charles Papert and David Allen Grove run an excellent 2-3 day workshop through the Steadicam Guild. I highly recommend.

If you can get a few people interested it is not at all hard to get Peter to come to your town to do a workshop. Email him, there might even be one that works for you already in the works.
