I was listening to the Adam Carolla podcast while walking my dog this morning and Adam, a notorious complainer, had high words of praise for Steadicam Operators and camera operators in general.

You can listen here (he talks about steadicam at 10:20): Adam Carolla podcast

Praise from Adam is rare indeed. He has a segment of his show called "What Can't Adam Complain About?", and so far there hasn't been anything.

Yeah, I heard that the other day and was going to post about it, thanks for getting around to it Jim. It was indeed complimentary, not just to us but to camera dept. in general as he rightly identified us as the crew members who have the least downtime on set (who doesn't love those magic words, "private rehearsal").

That's cool! Ron Baldwin was the steadicam op on the pilot Adam mentions, I suspect there was a lisagiv bribe involved!

Nice shout to all camera ops! He's on my A list now!

If Baldwin was there I'm sure Adam would have totally taken off with Lisigav!

Someone should get him to host the next SOC Awards, that and negotiate our next contract!

You can and should send a thank you note via his publicist at:

hey Jim, thanks for posting this! Adam was a pleasure to work with -- pretty quiet and always very nice and funny as shit. The pilot he's talking about was really tough...typical hd rolling resets that magically transformed a 2 minute shot into an 8 minute marathon where I was just fighting to hold in the expletives. I actually bought a bazooka (and am probably on a FBI watch list because I used google to find a used one) for all the coverage I ended up doing. Fun guy to be around, and a fan of the 'gav. The director was super cool too, some of you might know him (a former dp!) -- Michael Spiller.

Cudos to all camera crews.
