Does anyone know how much a Panavision Gold weighs in "Steadicam" mode....I know I know haha. But in theory with a clip on, light weight mags, etc?

I'd say 40 lbs at the lightest.

probably closer to 45 now that I check some figures in the asc book...

it's not exact, but I think you can keep it under 45-46 lbs.

yikes.

we had one of these at school a few years back and I used to throw it up on my rig in full-on studio mode and just about die. I don't recommend that.

I seem to remember it being around 33lbs with everything but a lens (everything meaning lightweight conv kit, clip on mb, hill pana bracket, 1 preston motor, 2 camera plates, pana dovetail adptr, 400' mag/film, cables).

sheesh, I was WAY off. remind me not to try to do basic arithmetic after midnight. In other math-related questions, anybody want me to do their taxes this spring? I can have you in jail by summer!

I'm pretty sure 2+2=5 gets you a cake from the IRS not a jail cell. 2+2=3 however...
