I am looking for a cable for a Red One Camera. I have just been asked to shoot for an independent film shooting in my area and would very much like to be able to do it. They are shooting with the Red and I do not own this cable. I was asked only today about this shoot and the shoot will be happening on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. I am hoping someone might have this cable available and be willing to let me use it.

If you might be able to help please call me at 859-351-2850.

You have to be specific... Run or Power cable?

And what kind of rig/FF you are using...

But neither power nor run cable are essential to do a job with the RED...

You can always use the onboard battery.

More important is the video, do you have an HD capable sled and if not do you have or can you get a downconverter.

Good Luck!

Power I can take care of by running off battery and I do have an HD monitor on my rig. It is the video cable that I am thinking I need. I do not have a lot of knowledge about the red one and just know there is an issue with the cables being different than other cams use. I am running a clipper 312 with an HD monitor.

The SDI video out on the RED body is a mini-BNC. All cameras come from the factory with short mini-BNC to BNC adapter cables, so this should not be a problem for you. Also, many cameras come with an attached aftermarket BNC breakout box such as the one made by Element Technica:

Good Luck.

Even better, insist on that Element Technica box being provided as part of the camera kit. If you have to run with those awful, hideous inch-long breakout cables, you're guaranteed to have random signal dropout and you'll bust several of them during the day - they aren't very well manufactured...
