Wonder whether Jim or anybody can help me.

We have an analog BFD with the M-One motor my question is is there a mod to convert the handset to use digital motors? Is it just a case of the PLC receiver?

I have a CMotion CForce motor & would like to use this with the Bartech.

Thanks in advance.

You will need a digital PLC receiver to do that. The handset will work with either a digital or analog receiver.

I did not know this! So, technically, I can use an old Analog Bartech handset, to talk to a Digital Bartech Receiver with a digital motor like a Preston Motor?

Yes, like Lawrence said, you have to have a digital receiver. But the Handset (transmitter) will work with both, analog and digital receiver. So you can have for example an analog receiver for channel 1 and parallel a digital receiver for channel 2.

Keep in mind that the handset, transmitter, needs to have a software upgrade to convert it from analog to digital.

I didn't have an upgrade but it works. Just ask Jim Bartell.

I don't know how I missed this when it was posted.  All BFD handsets will work with either analog or digital receivers.  However, a very small minority (<5%) of older units that are still running obsolete software may need an update.  The upgrade is $45 for the new CPU chip.

Thanks Jim (& everyone else).

If I purchase the PLC F-Stop box will I be able to use a CMotion CForce motor with it?

Thanks

The 4-pin CForce motors will not work with standard 7-pin digital motor drivers. CForce motors use a proprietary serial signal called "LBUS" that only works with Cmotion and Arri motor drivers.
