The video in the new OICW has broadcast range of 5 miles for field commanders and is rumored to be made by Phillips in the micro bands, as I find out more about this new low power High output tech, I will keep you posted. It has been very difficult to get info out of the guys at FN and HK, all I know is that it is 12 volt so far.

Is this a relativly new idea for guns ?

I wounder if phillips were forced at gun point to develop the system hehe

No this is not a new gun it is an early early prototype of the XM8 weapons platform(by HK) that has been scraped by the military, however the barrel you see on top of the firearm is the grenade launcher that shoots a relative new type of ?sky bursting round? That round will be used on modified M2?s no more hiding form this puppy.

They are calling it the XM29 now and the video Xmitter is using disposible 12v cells.
